Song & Verse: I LOVE THE LORD

We love each other because God loved us first. If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a Christian brother or sister, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see? And He has given us this command: Those who love God must alsoContinueContinue reading “Song & Verse: I LOVE THE LORD”

Jesus’s purpose…

Then John 10:10 came to mind. I initially thought the message was about the enemy’s purpose. A reminder that I should expect to be attacked by those who aren’t aware of their own blessings. But it wasn’t a reminder about the enemy’s purpose; it was a reminder about Jesus’s purpose! Jesus Christ came to give me and you life. Not just any old kind of life. He came to give us LIFE IN ALL IT’S FULLNESS!

Poem: WHERE IS YOUR HOSPITALITY? by LaShawnda Jones

[A rebuke from the Lord] Where is your hospitality? What happened to your love? Your charity? Your kindness? Why are you growing weary? Did I not promise to keep you?Refresh you? Restore you?Are you not certain that you will overcome your current trials? Have you noticed how hardhearted you’ve become? Why did you allow thatContinueContinue reading “Poem: WHERE IS YOUR HOSPITALITY? by LaShawnda Jones”

Try showing up.

The most empowering and spiritually edifying moments, during this same period, are those times when I showed up for myself. Those moments when God instructed me to do something — usually something that seemed outrageous to me and perhaps appeared crazy to the world — and I took Him at His word and did as I was told. Those moments have provided me with the most profound LIFE lessons of all.

Sermon: THE DANGER OF A GOOD SERMON

GET UP AND GO! Celebrate the sacrifice as if we’re expecting to go someplace. Every now and again we have to address life as if tomorrow is not good enough. Next week is not good enough. God is doing something wonderful TODAY!

In Case of Emergency

Sunday, September 23, 2012 But God’s grace has made me what I am, and His grace to me was not wasted. ~ 1 Corinthians 15:10, NCV Now since we preached that Christ was raised from the dead, why do some of you say that people will not be raised from the dead? If no one is everContinueContinue reading “In Case of Emergency”

Singing to a Barren Womb

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.  ~ Colossians 3:16 I believe I’ve been fighting depression for many years. I believe Satan has been attacking me continually with very little respiteContinueContinue reading “Singing to a Barren Womb”

Do not despise small beginnings.

What I learned from my restaurant years is that a dirty restroom can ruin an otherwise perfect visit. What I’ve learned from my corporate years is that a hospitable spirit and gracious personality will open more doors than any degree will.

We can understand God’s plans for us better when we look back and see what He has done for us, what He has brought us through, and what lessons He was insistent on us learning from repetitious situations in our lives.
