Women in the Bible: DEBORAH
“Some have tried to understand God’s selection of Deborah by reasoning that he could not find any man suitable for the job, so he was forced to use Deborah.
While this reasoning may serve to keep male egos intact, it ignores the testimony of Scripture. God is able to use whoever he wants. He does not appoint leaders by using human criteria.
When Samuel considered Eliab a suitable successor to King Saul, God corrected Samuel’s limited perception: “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart” (1 Samuel 16:7).”

I Came for the Dream…
I’m going to speak to those who have been abused, mistreated or violated in any way because my old way of thinking came from the mindset of a victim – a captive. I was thinking and acting like someone in bondage who was desperately seeking freedom. All I could recognize was that I needed to reclaim what was taken from me. In my simplicity, I sought to redeem myself by casting what is sacred (my body) before swine (any man who is not my husband). However, the only way to keep the sacred holy is to set it apart. The sacred must remain clean and untouched by that which is unholy (anything not sanctioned by God). [follow the link to read the full article]
Study: Courage to Trust God’s Plan
God created mankind to love and trust Him. From the beginning we struggled against doing just that. We want everything to make sense in our heads, not our hearts. We want to attribute reality to the things seen with the eyes and discount what our spirit is telling us. Trusting God completely requires letting goContinueContinue reading “Study: Courage to Trust God’s Plan”

Are You Saying “NO” to God?
Have you thought about how you are responding to God’s blessings, commands, instructions and provision? Are you even aware of all that He has done for you and continues to do for you daily? If your response to God is anything other than “yes” and “amen” or immediate action to do what He said do,ContinueContinue reading “Are You Saying “NO” to God?”
Study: Courage to Hear, See, Believe and Obey God
God is calling warriors who have the ears to hear Him, eyes to see Him, heart to believe Him and the faith to obey Him. He gave us his Word to enCOURAGE us – to strengthen us on this journey of life – to Him – through Christ – that we have been called to undertake. When you do your part, God is able to manifest His plan for your life. Through your life, God will be glorified. That’s what this is all about. It’s all about glorifying God!
Seduced by the Enemy, Part 2: “Who sent you?”
The people in your life that operate as enemies may not come at you with guns blazing. They may not even realize that their momentary role in your life is contrary to God’s plan for you and His instructions to you. You are responsible for knowing what God has for you and what He has told you to do. You are further responsible for acting in accordance to that knowledge. So when people come at you with their agenda, which will ALWAYS be contrary to God’s agenda for your life, you need to be able to identify them as the enemy – in that moment they are against you and your purpose.
How’s Your Heart?
I had always thought I resembled the good ground that received the seed and nurtured it into abundant reproduction, but as I reread the parable of the sower in light of the question being put to me, “How’s your heart,” along with a sermon of the same name, I began to see how my heart was close to transforming into a thorny, barren wasteland. Was the Word being choked out of me through all my disappointing interactions with people?
