ACAD – Praise: Psalm 30

Sing praises to the Lord, O you his saints, and give thanks to his holy name. For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.
As for me, I said in my prosperity, “I shall never be moved.” By your favor, O Lord, you made my mountain stand strong; you hid your face; I was dismayed. {Click to read full chapter.}

Jesus’s purpose…

Then John 10:10 came to mind. I initially thought the message was about the enemy’s purpose. A reminder that I should expect to be attacked by those who aren’t aware of their own blessings. But it wasn’t a reminder about the enemy’s purpose; it was a reminder about Jesus’s purpose! Jesus Christ came to give me and you life. Not just any old kind of life. He came to give us LIFE IN ALL IT’S FULLNESS!

God’s abundance is never more than we can bear…

“Yet even in the discomfort of transformation, my Good Father gave me clues as to what He was getting me ready for. Even as the remnants of my old life lay in shreds at my feet, the glory of my new life was illuminated before my eyes.”

Love for the Best Haters Ever!

Not all of us are blessed enough to recognize our haters. For me personally, several of my haters throughout life escaped detection for long periods of time because of the role they had in my life (friend or relative) or because I didn’t see anything in my life worth their enmity. What do I want to remember?

A couple of months ago I was recruited to organize a celebration for a colleague’s 35th Anniversary with the company. A few weeks before her milestone anniversary, she learned that her older brother had died. I read her sad news in an email she sent to my boss explaining why she had been non-responsive on email that week. My heart went out to her.ContinueContinue reading “What do I want to remember?”

Borrow someone’s flowers

The other day was a colleague’s birthday. The same people who didn’t want to publicly acknowledge or celebrate my birthday a month ago invited me to join in on the celebrations of someone they actually like. I like her too so it wasn’t a hardship… and this isn’t really a complaint…. I was asked toContinueContinue reading “Borrow someone’s flowers”

Face-to-Face: Sharing God’s Glory With One Another

Relationships are destroyed from lack of knowledge as well. People don’t take the time or make the effort to get to know each other anymore. They seek shallow intimacies and call everyone friend. What one person knows, all people know – yet no one truly knows anyone and everyone feels the need to hide their true selves. This cycle is easy to maintain with technology, but the strain of maintaining the mask cannot be kept up indefinitely in face-to-face interactions.

What if today were your last day on earth?

I pray I have been a decent steward. I hope I have been an obedient servant. At the end of my time here, as my Heavenly Father look upon my life and my conduct in it, I long to hear Him say, “Well done.”
