Reader Review by Kayla: Desert of Solitude

Kayla Pompey of Milwaukee, WI reviews Desert of Solitude: Refreshed by Grace written by LaShawnda Jones. Kayla openly shares how the book has helped her in her life.

“In this book, LaShawnda explains how she felt she was not enough. I think a lot of people feel like that and they don’t even realize how much they really are. They are enough. I realized I am enough. This [book] just came out a few months ago. Within that time I have been able to completely change my life around. A lot of choices I make now don’t revolve around what other people will think. I’m not trying to be so much of a people pleaser anymore. I am learning to please myself and be happy with the choices I make. In that, other people are feeding off my confidence.”

Trolling Trump

This morning, I made the mistake of visiting Trump’s Twitter feed to see what today’s tantrum was about. I try very hard not to post any hateful words on his feed. I try even harder to stay away from his feed altogether. When I absolutely can’t help myself, I will simply type, “Delusional” or “liar, liar, pants on fire” and try to move on. Today, inspiration struck and I decided to respond to his tweets with a suggestion that he purchase and read my new book, Desert of Solitude: Refreshed by Grace. I write to process through the trials of life and currently, Trump is the biggest trial America has to deal with. Promoting, Desert of Solitude: Refreshed by Grace, which contains stories of renewal, refreshment, grace, joy, self-evaluation, self-reflection and self-correction, within Trump’s incendiary posts, allows me to do double-duty. On one hand, I’m sharing my ministry in a not-quite-so-subliminal way while promoting my book on social media. Two for one. Not bad. I can now take the remainder of the day off. 😉 Enjoy. #KeepMoving #Resist the devil and he will flee #James4:7
