But you have planted wickedness, you have reaped evil, you have eaten the fruit of deception. Because you have depended on your own strength and on your many warriors, the roar of battle will rise against your people, so that all your fortresses will be devastated

ACAD – But now murderers!: Jeremiah 23 

“The days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will raise up for David[a] a righteous Branch, a King who will reign wisely and do what is just and right in the land. In his days Judah will be saved and Israel will live in safety. This is the name by which he will be called: The Lord Our Righteous Savior. 

ACAD – But now murderers!: Jeremiah 22  

“People from many nations will pass by this city and will ask one another, ‘Why has the Lord done such a thing to this great city?’ And the answer will be: ‘Because they have forsaken the covenant of the Lord their God and have worshiped and served other gods.’”

Decline of Intimate Communication

Trying to navigate spaces as your fully authentic self with people who are reserved and calculated with their interactions leads to some form of malfunction. For me, my malfunction revolved around processing the deep emotional hurts that didn’t seem to derive from real interactions or full conversations.

See how the faithful city has become a prostitute! She once was full of justice; righteousness used to dwell in her — but now murderers! Your silver has become dross, your choice wine is diluted with water. Your rulers are rebels, partners with thieves; they all love bribes and chase after gifts. They do not defend the cause of the fatherless; the widow’s case does not come before them. 

Holiday Food Nostalgia

Everything I grabbed sparked joy.

The coup de grâce was seeing a bright yellow and red label that said: BROOKLYN BABKA! Oh my! I almost turned into a shaking puddle right there in the aisle. Pure joy! I’ve been trying to figure out when I can get to NYC for a few days just to eat and walk around the city.
