This is a great testimony on chastity and waiting for God to match you with your spouse. Even within church congregations pre-marital sex and multiple sexual partners is common place. Even within my own congregations, I have received side-eyes for my preference not to date "just for the fun of it". This Sister's report isContinue reading "My Fiance Never Was My ‘Boyfriend’"
The Importance of Invitation
The importance of an invitation is on my mind today. So I’m reading what others have to say about it….
Each week in worship we have an invitation that is given to us, an invitation to come to the table with Christ as our host. An invitation to commune with God and the great cloud of saints. And today as I was reading the walk to Emmaus, I noticed a characteristic about Jesus I had not noticed before.
“As they came near the village to which they were going, he walked ahead as if he were going on. But they urged him strongly, saying ‘Stay with us, because it is almost evening and the day is now nearly over.’ So he went in to stay with them.”

My youthful memories of this house and yard are full of life and fun. My grandmother had a garden that took up most of the backyard and rose bushes and flowers surrounded the house. Most memorable: the whole block had been inhabited when I young. During this visit, the neighborhood was like a ghost town.
Letters of the Bible: James Writes to the Twelve Scattered Tribes
But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.... Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains. You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand. {Click the link to read the full post.}
