Reflection Friday: Journal with me!

Ending and beginning with reflective journaling.

I have an ambitious goal of 62 days of consistency! 😱 I’m willing to try it if you join me!

I’ve been curating dozens of journaling prompts. The end of the calendar year is a time I get serious about writing a life progress report and future actions outline for myself. During this time, I review older journal entries to evaluate where I am in context to where I had hoped to be. Then, I outline a new plan of action if the goal is still relevant.

I’ve been delinquent with my journaling the last few years while being extremely consumed with the physical, financial, and emotional labor of gutting and renovating a one hundred thirty year old house.

I need to recalibrate. Re-center and refocus my energies. The state of the world tells me, I’m not the only one in need to reflecting on and rearranging life.

Beginning December 1, ending January 31, I will post a daily journaling prompt. If you’re not used to journaling, start with giving yourself five minutes to write to the prompt. If you’re consistent, five minutes will become your warm-up time.

Things to keep in mind during this series:

  1. Journaling is a form of communicating with yourself for a deeper understanding of yourself.
  2. Whatever you hold back is only hindering your growth forward.
  3. Give yourself time to dive into the things you want to dive into for yourself.
  4. Be honest.
  5. Be patient.
  6. Don’t be judgemental.
  7. Give yourself permission to simply be who you are. No apologies. No shame. No camouflaging. State the facts and deal with them.

Praying for a revelatory experience for all who embrace this journaling series.

All my best,

LaShawnda
