It’s 5:00am and I’ve been up for an hour. Wide awake. Alert. Refreshed. Ready for the day. Responding to Robert Reich on bluesky.
Before I get to my rebuttal regarding the worth of our existence, let me say irrevocably: humanity is in a full-scale, visible spiritual war. From the ground in the United States, it looks and feels like humanity is losing.
The Bible is a great teacher if you can get the lessons. One such lesson is the instruction to choose life every time.
“I call heaven and earth to witness against you today that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Choose life so that you and your descendants may live..,”
Deuteronomy 30:19
Another lesson is how the enemy needs permission to destroy us.
“Satan has demanded [asked] to sift all of you like wheat, but I have prayed for you that your own faith may not fail, and you, when once you have turned back, strengthen your brothers [and sisters].”
Luke 22:31-32
I’ve been working with my sister to rebuild her life this year. One thing I’ve been telling her since the beginning is, “You have everything you need within you to move forward.” She prefers to wait for magical conditions and perfect outcomes. She wants to be scooped up by a savior, or better yet, lay back as her sister fights her demons and others pamper her.
This is also the mindset of the majority of Americans. Or at least the majority that cross my bluesky timeline. Americans want someone to swoop in and bail them out of the consequences of generations of bad choices. Centuries of choosing death over life. Electing a professed destroyer, violator, and murderer twice.
We are seeing in real time the erosion of personal agency, the abdication of personal and collective power.
The enemy (government, warmongers, and techonolgy peddlers) are telling us resistance is futile. Full assimilation is our only option. We have no choice but to comply. We are only fodder for the machine. And fodder has no power.
I’m here to remind you of your power. You are not powerless. You can still choose life, repeatedly.
This week, I attended an employment summit that focused on ai in the workplace. Overwhelmingly, what I heard was: COMPLY. One person kept saying, “AI is here. You either hop on board or get left behind.” One state official apologized for using chat to ask for home decorating ideas because someone told her she took a job from someone. Opposite ends of the spectrum, both presuming we have no choice in how, if, or when we interact with AI or broader technology.
The Bible also teaches there’s nothing new under the sun. I’m becoming convinced humanity has destroyed itself on this threshold before.
The impetus for this post: equating manmade soft money with power. I have known some very wealthy people and I’ve known some very powerful people. They are not the same people. The most powerful people I’ve known have controlled people with their charisma, personality and will. These people had very little money.
The wealthy people who tried to control others with money were miserable. They understood how shallow their claim was. Their “power” was only as deep and strong as the other person’s desire for proximty and cash.
This is where we are in America and the world. Those with the illusion of wealth are telling those with the power of labor (will) that they are worthless – without value or power. Those who buy into this lie, abdicate their power. They cede it, and themselves, to the enemy.
No one can control you without your permission and participation.
Refuse to comply. Refuse to assimilate. Resist. Resistance is not futile. Stand againt the enemy.

Wealth can absolutely be separated from power. Power is given by concensus. People are not powerless because they have no money. They’re powerless becauss they abdicate their power.
The wealthy are wealthy because of the people they subjugate, enslave, extort & steal from.
Their wealth is debt & leverage. My favorite economic’s lesson from 30 yrs ago is: money has no value unless you spend it.
Who can spend a trillion dollars? What is worth a trillon dollars? By and large, these are projected numbers they inflate for each other. The stock market is fixed. Nothing EM makes works.
Without a customer base, none of them have anything. Stop consuming unnecessary things. Stop paying them for the obsolescence and scarcity they peddle. Stop feeding into the system of destruction they’ve created. Downsize your life/bills, slow down on your labor. Reduce your consumption. Delete apps, profiles, accounts, access. Go offline, stay offline as much as possible.
True power is in the choices we make. You can choose to support the system that’s killing you. Or you can choose to step out of the system. It’s hard and uncomfortable, but its also possible and empowering.
