On August 20, 2024, I was pleased to attend a rally for Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz as they hosted the largest watch party I’ve ever attended. On the jumbotron in Fiserv Forum, in Milwaukee, WI, the festive roll call of the 2024 Democratic National Convention was streaming live with the most hyped announcers ever for a political event.
In my eagerness to get a great shot, I had my Sony A7iii full frame camera with a wide lens, my drone, and my Samsung Galaxy separated in various pockets.
At the door, they refused to let me in with my drone. My intent was to capture the outside crowd, not indoor. That didn’t matter. They gave me the option to return it to my car or leave it at the door. The doors were closing in less than ten minutes. I hustled so hard to the parking lot, I thought my heart was going to burst.
Needless to say, I made it back before the doors closed!
For my shots, I walked the perimeter of the stadium on three levels.
It took a couple of weeks before I was able to sort the images. I took close to 2000 – the downside of digital. 😭
This week, I selected three to sell as prints. They represent the energy and excitement of the evening very well. I hope they are a harbinger of what’s to come. 😶🌫️

Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz were officially nominated for President and Vice President of the United States of America this evening. The stadium seats 17,000 to 18,000 people and they filled it to the rafters. A tidbit for those watching crowd sizes.
