The greatest weapon anyone can use against us is self-doubt.
Satan used this weapon against Eve. Satan deceived Eve by promising her that if she ate from the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil her eyes would be opened and she would become like God. The problem was, she already was like God. She and Adam were created in God’s image; their power and authority in the earthly realm mirrored God’s in the heavenly realm. By causing her to doubt herself, he opened the door for her to begin doubting God as well. Self-doubt involves low self-esteem, a negative self-concept, and a low sense of personal worth and value. If this is the way we see ourselves, it can lead us to doubt the character and qualities of the God who made us that way.
