“This is EXCELLENT!!
Your writing is a gift from God. There is something in here for all Christians – single, married, male, female. I love you even more.”

“This morning, like the past several weeks, I’ve been out running before sunrise. Time permitting I’ve been reading a chapter or two from your book when I get back. I was going to text you this morning just to say Hi and wish you an encouraged and wonderful day but then one text message turned into two and since it was before 7 it seemed best to reconfigure the medium of communication and send it a little less indirect so you could look at it when both your eyes were fully open and you had consumed your morning beverage of choice (oj,tea, coffee).
The book is continuing to be a good read for me and from one single person to another a lot of what you say testifies to what is in my heart or the Lord is revealing to me about myself. On the other hand, there is a whole different list of ideas I look forward to discussing with you because for every thought that makes me want to say “Yaw, Heay Der I Know Watcha Mean, Yeah, Eh?” (I think that is Yooper for “Say it loud sista”) there is another thought that seems foreign to me. Anyway, that is a conversation that I look forward to at another time.!”

“Honestly, I’ve been enjoying reading your book as I proofread it. The last few books I’ve proofread/edited have been a really technical healthcare-related manual and a very academic history book, so I’m relishing the opportunity to work on something that is more personal and lively.
I’ve experienced the sadness, joy and frustrations of your life as I read through your manuscript, and there have been some lessons I’ve picked up on that I can apply to my own life.
I definitely think you have something in this book that can help others. What you have to offer is a sensitivity coupled with an intelligence, both of which you’re willing to really “put out there.” Your sensitivity allows you to really feel your pain or happiness and reflect upon those emotions. Your intelligence affords you the chance to dissect your experiences and understand what they mean, as well as find ways to communicate them to others so that they can benefit from them. Not everyone can do that.
I look forward to reading more, with the hope that your book ends on a very positive, hopeful note…. with you overcoming the obstacles and pitfalls of life to continue to find happiness and self-fulfillment.
Thanks.”

“This is a wonderful unique look into one persons life journey. As every one’s life should be, however, it is PACKED with uncondescending wisdom & self assurance. You want to know what happens next to the protagonist however, at the same time you find yourself reflecting on your own life experiences. The scriptures & words of wisdom added help give breaks & understanding in the journey (and also for own meditation) I found this book so extremely enriching I highly recommend it to anyone!….Gender , race, age or status play no part in being able grasp this fabulous individuals life’s journey! I also found it to be humorous and light as well as a weighty dose of reality! A book 2 is a must and definitely looking forward to it!”

“I just FINALLY finished reading My God and Me and let me tell you…I loved it. I could relate with so much of what you said that I would have thought it was me writing it. Very inspirational! Great job!“

“I just read your note that you tagged me on. It was ON POINT…get out of my head!!! This last season has been such this way for me. God has put me in a position to be a blessing….and I hadn’t really realized it…I was just doing what I felt I was supposed to do. I have received in abundance the comments you were speaking of from your friend. I had an employee cry this week as she expressed to my team and executive board members what she felt that I had done for her and what an example she felt that I was to her.
To the point that I almost felt embarrassed….and it was that night in prayer that I had realized that I hadn’t yet learn how to receive. I felt like the Holy Spirit told me that I knew how to lose in the past, I knew how to survive and just get by, but now at this level he really wanted me to know how to win…and to recieve it and not keep it hidden. Afterall, I am his child I have been put here to be a blessing..and I am not ashamed of the gospel nor my salvation. THANK YOU!! Thank you….and continue to let him use you my friend!!!”

“Hi, LaShawnda,
I just wanted to let you know that I met with some of the ladies after you left and they said that they felt really inspired by you and that your positive attitude was uplifting. Many of them said that they were excited to get the books and look forward to reading them when they get home. One woman stated that she felt special that the author of the book signed her copy!
Hopefully we can work together in the future!
Thanks again!”
